1980 - Moscow

Introduction
Olympics Only 80 nations competed at Moscow as a result of a US led boycott, but this meant there were some impressive results. Zimbabwe won the women's field hockey, and one Soviet Union gymnast became the first athlete to win eight medals at one Games.
Paralympics
Arnhem saw the biggest Games yet, with 12,000 spectators at the opening cheering on just under 2000 athletes coming from 42 different countries. Volleyball (sitting) was hosted for the first time, and in total an amazing 3000 medals were awarded.
